Mt. Carmel with Josh

Josh finished his second set of midterms this past Thursday and in my opinion (and probably the entire 5th term class), these tests could not have been better timed as they ended right before the four day Easter weekend.  Josh and I got to enjoy the holiday weekend free from the worries of medical school.  It. Was. Grand.

And can I just say that 5th term is proving to be MUCH less stressful than 4th term was.  After every set of midterms in 4th term, the only thing Josh wanted to do was sleep, all weekend.  I would beg him to go out and do stuff and he just needed rest.  But after 5th term midterms, he's been up for exploring the island.

On Friday, we went to Mt. Carmel Falls with our friends Kris and Tarrah.  This was my third and probably last trip to Mt. Carmel, but I was really glad that Josh finally got to see it.

We had a great time at the falls and ended the day with a few relaxing hours at La Sagesse.  Such a fun Good Friday!

Mt. Carmel and La Sagesse

Our week of fun continued on Wednesday and I finally took the family to the East side of the island.  We made the drive over to Mt. Carmel Falls with Julie and Phyllis and we enjoyed the fairly easy hike to the tallest falls in Grenada.  I had been here once before, but it never gets old.

Bet you didn't know there were mermaids in Grenada!

Then we hiked over to the rock slide waterfall where Mom even went down the rock slide!!

Back from our hike!
After finishing our hike, we drove over to La Sagesse Beach to eat our packed lunches and enjoy the sunshine and salt water.  We were so lucky to have such beautiful weather all week long!

We got home in the late afternoon and got ready for a really nice dinner at the Beach House.  Josh was actually able to attend and I actually ordered the filet (Josh was so proud).

Thanks Mom and Dad for an absolutely wonderful dinner!  You spoiled us so much on your trip to Grenada.

Mt. Carmel Falls

On Friday, the SO's took a trip to Mount Carmel Falls.  It is about a 45 minute ride from SGU but we didn't notice the time because we were having so much fun chatting!  We arrived at Mt. Carmel ready to hike.
The hike to the first fall was only about 20 minutes long, but we were plenty hot by the time we got there and ready for a dip in the cool water.

The first fall is pretty tall, with a large pool underneath that is perfect for swimming in.

After swimming for a bit, we headed to the next fall, which is actually more of a rock slide.  This one was my favorite because you could slide all the way down it.
Climbing up to this was a bit of a challenge because it was SUPER slippery and there were bees everywhere.  But I made it up there and felt very accomplished!

Then it was time for the big slide.

It was SOOOO much fun!  I hope that Josh and I can go back to Mt. Carmel Falls soon.  I know that Josh would have such a good time sliding on the rock slide.  Poor guy, he has yet to see a waterfall in Grenada.
