Match Day 2015

I will do a big update on Josh and our second go around with The Match next week, but I just want to say with a HUGE amount of pride in my husband and in our success story that.....

WE MATCHED GENERAL SURGERY!

    Ohh I am so happy for you guys!! I found your blog one night when i was looking for information about prelim surgery. Our stories are a bit similar: my husband is an IMG, wants to be a surgeon, and we have a 5 month old baby girl. I have not always been as supportive as i should have been about his goal to be a surgeon. I wanted him to pursue a more realistic field like Family or IM. However, after reading your blog, i felt more confident about my husband's decision to rank prelim surgery over categorical family and im programs. We just found out today that he matched, most likely prelim surgery. I am soo happy for him and i can't believe i ever wanted to dissuade him from pursuing his dream.

    Just found your post about Josh's Match experience after my IMG husband did not get matched today. Thanks so much for sharing and it was an excellent resource for me to find support during this time. Congratulations on matching into general surgery.
