Boston For The Day

Happy Labor Day Ya'll!

I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend with family and friends.  We had my sister-in-law Kristin and brother-in-law Brandon here in Massachusetts from California for the weekend and Josh FINALLY had some time off so we were nice and busy the last few days!

Yesterday, we made our way into the city of Boston.  Other than flying in to the Boston airport in May when we moved here, I had yet to go into the city and so I was anxious to see what Boston was all about.  As expected, it didn't disappoint and I look forward to going back soon since there seems to be LOTS to do and see and even more places to eat!

We started our sight-seeing journey at the Boston Commons (one of the places I plan to go back to and spend more time at).

And since we were already there, we decided to walk the Freedom Trail which is a 2.5 mile route through Boston that takes you past a number of significant sites in the history of the US.  These include Bunker Hill, Paul Revere's house, the Massachusetts State House, site of the Boston Massacre, and more.

Of course, with an almost 14 month old, we had to make a number of pit stops along the way so that Ryan could get her wiggles out.  We stopped at Quincy Market for some delicious New England Clam "Chowda" in a bread bowl.  Delicious.  And also made a stop so she could play in some grass and a small fountain.  Which lead to an outfit change mid-day.

We had a drink and a snack at an Italian restaurant on the North end of Boston and finally ended up at the Bunker Hill Monument which looks a lot like the Washington Monument to me.

At this point, we thought it best to take a cab back to the hotel that Kristina and Brandon were staying at.  Ryan knocked out in the cab, but I assure you she was not the only one who was worn out!

We had so much fun in Boston with Kristin and Brandon. Though we were sad to see them go, we are so glad they were able to visit us here in MA and look forward to more visitors in the coming months!
