Glad to see the old fashioned method works just as good as expensive tongs, and there's less chance of burning your head!
- Its Louise by the way, for some reason I can comment from my account.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5790336845131475295.post-70338542981555715212011-07-24T20:52:07.246-07:002011-07-24T20:52:07.246-07:00I love this! It totally reminds me of Little Women....I'm not even sure that they did it in the movie/book, but it seems like something they'd do. I did this with my hair at girls camp every summer. We need a girls "girly" night where we can experiment with your many fun ideas!Lyndzeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07304837704924611212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5790336845131475295.post-63062046689904977532011-07-22T16:08:24.380-07:002011-07-22T16:08:24.380-07:00Steph --

When I had wrapped all of the hair around the rag, then I would start wrapping the remainder of the rag back up and cover the hair until I reached the top. I then tied the two ends of the rag at the top of your head. When I was finished, you looked like you had towel snakes sticking out all over your head! I think maybe my rags were longer than the ones you used. Also, I think the thicker the rag, the looser the curls. I'm pretty sure your Great Grandmother Evelyn used to do Grandma Catie's hair like this when she was little. (1920s and 30s) Who knows how long ago it started. Maybe it was a Depression Era thing, or pre-invention of curlers! They are easy to sleep on and don't cost anything.

Thanks for the memories,
Mom

P.S. Use sunscreen, dear!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5790336845131475295.post-82328329171225415152011-07-22T08:33:06.074-07:002011-07-22T08:33:06.074-07:00That's awesome Steph!!
